AURORALITES and EL
Until now the standard in emergency and high endurance lighting has been chem-sticks. These crack and shake light sources last from 30 minutes to 12 hours but can not be turned off and once used can not be reactivated. They cost several dollars apiece and are made of glass and plastic thus contributing to the growing landfill nightmare.
AURORALITES has taken EL technology and incorporated it into an extensive line of safety products. The lights can be turned off so when a light is not required you aren't committed. When a light source could even be dangerous (as is frequently the case with police dogs) a quick click and there is no light and no target.
Cost effectiveness is obvious. On an annual basis if only one or two hours of actual light is needed per night - 365 chem-lights would still be required. The cost? At C$2.50 each, over $900! In contrast, annual costs for an AURORALITES Mini-Clip, for example, will be less than $100 (including the cost of the initial purchase and long-life batteries) AND will work for many more YEARS!
The STANDARD colour is a blue-green which is
chemically and electrically the brightest. This colour also provides the
best wavelength of light for visibility in heavy fog (even during the
day), snow, dust, heavy underbrush and of course distance.
